Hagaribommanahalli, Jan. 14: The Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hagari bommanahalli celebrated the festival of Makar Sankranti. The head of the school’s Sanskrit department, Sri Vinayak Bhat, spoke, stating, “Makar Sankranti is a unique festival among Indian celebrations. According to the Tugu Panchanga, Makar Sankranti occurs at the beginning of the year, while according to the Indian Panchanga, this festival takes place at the end of the year. The term ‘Sankramana’ means to move. The transition of the sun from the southern path to the northern path is referred to as Uttarayana. The sun enters the Capricorn zodiac from Sagittarius. During these days, the duration of daylight increases, and the sunlight remains on Earth for a longer period. Uttarayana is said to be an extremely auspicious time. The Mahabharata war took place during the Dakshinayana. Bhishma, who was struck by Arjuna’s arrows, surrendered his life during Uttarayana. The story of Bhishma, who was pierced by Arjuna’s arrows, is found in the Mahabharata, stating that he held onto his life until Uttarayana and relinquished his body in the north. On the day of Makar Sankranti, it is customary to rise early in the morning, apply oil to the body, perform an abhyanga, and conduct a special worship for the deity, along with preparing sweet offerings. Notably, sweets are made using jaggery, sesame, coconut, and peanuts. This unique festival of Sankranti is said to bestow upon us greater vitality and energy.
ಹಗರಿಬೊಮ್ಮನಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಜ. 14: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಹಗರಿಬೊಮ್ಮನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿನಾಯಕ ಭಟ್ ರವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ “ಭಾರತೀಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದಂತಹ ಹಬ್ಬ ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯು ತೂಗು ಪಂಚಾಂಗದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ವರ್ಷದ ಆದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದರೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಪಂಚಾಂಗದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಕೊನೆಯ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂಕ್ರಮಣ ಎಂದರೆ ಚಲಿಸುವುದು ಅನ್ನುವ ಅರ್ಥವಿದೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಥದಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರಾಯಣ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಧನುರಾಶಿಯಿಂದ ಮಕರ ರಾಶಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಈ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಗಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಪ್ರಕಾಶವು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಉತ್ತರಾಯಣವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪುಣ್ಯಕಾಲ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಹಾಭಾರತ ಯುದ್ಧ ನಡೆದದ್ದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ. ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಘಾಸಿಗೊಳಿಸಲ್ಪ ಭೀಷ್ಮರು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಾರಾಯಣದವರೆಗೆ ಧರಿಸಿ ಉತ್ತರಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಹ ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು ಎಂಬ ಕತೆಯು ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಮಕರ ಸಂಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ದಿವಸದೊಂದು ಪ್ರಾತಃಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಅಭ್ಯಂಗ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಸಿಹಿ ತಿನಿಸನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ನೈವೇದ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಬೆಲ್ಲ, ಎಳ್ಳು, ಕೊಬ್ಬರಿ, ಶೇಂಗಾ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿ ಸಿಹಿತಿನಿಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂಕ್ರಮಣವೆಂಬ ಈ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಹಬ್ಬವು ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
