Hagaribommanahalli, Mar. 26: Martyrs’ Day, the day when young revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shiv Ram Rajguru were hanged by the British government, was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Hagaribommanahalli.
*Smt. Renuka, Educational Coordinator of the Primary Department. S. narrated the background and events of that day to the students and said, “These three revolutionaries were arrested for killing British officer J.P. Sanders, who was responsible for the death of Lala Lajpat Rai in 1928, and for protesting by throwing a bomb in the Delhi Assembly. The British government had sentenced them to death on March 24, 1931. But fearing public outrage, they were secretly hanged in Lahore Jail, 11 hours before the scheduled time, i.e. on March 23, 1931 at 7:33 PM. Even while climbing the gallows, these three fearlessly greeted deaths by shouting slogans like “Inqilab Zindabad” and smiling.”
ಹಗರಿಬೊಮ್ಮನಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಮಾ. 26: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಹಗರಿಬೊಮ್ಮನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಭಗತ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, ಸುಖ್ದೇವ್ ಥಾಪರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವ ರಾಮ್ ರಾಜ್ಗುರು ಅವರು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೇರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ದಿನವಾದ ಹುತಾತ್ಮರ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
*ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೇಣುಕಾ. ಎಸ್ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆ ದಿನದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ, “1928ರಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಲಾ ಲಜಪತ್ ರಾಯ್ ಅವರ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಜೆ.ಪಿ. ಸ್ಯಾಂಡರ್ಸ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಅಸೆಂಬ್ಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಂಬ್ ಎಸೆದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಮೂವರು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಇವರಿಗೆ 1931ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 24ರಂದು ಗಲ್ಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆದರಿ, ನಿಗದಿತ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ 11 ಗಂಟೆ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಅಂದರೆ 1931ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 23ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 7:33ಕ್ಕೆ ಇವರನ್ನು ಲಾಹೋರ್ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೇರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಗಲ್ಲುಗಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಏರುವಾಗಲೂ ಈ ಮೂವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ “ಇಂಕ್ವಿಲಾಬ್ ಜಿಂದಾಬಾದ್” ಎಂಬ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ, ನಗುನಗುತ್ತಾ ಸಾವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
